As an Artist…
Self-taught, working for many years in Pastels and Acrylics. More recently computer graphics, graphic design and web design have peeked her interest. Doodling has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. Annie enjoys playing with shapes and faces; intrigued as much by what the face can hide as what it can show. For this reason she loves portraiture. Everyone from Rembrandt to Freda Kahlo. Other influences include in no particular order… life, the universe and everything.
As an Art Lover…
Believing that art should, at the very least, be liked; if you don’t like something it shouldn’t be given space in your home! Art requires no explanation, you don’t need to be told whether you love or loath a thing and it requires no understanding; it’s instinctive. Art has the power to be life changing and is capable of engaging and enriching the spirit, drawing on the conscious and the sub-conscious, imparting a simple emotion or sending a clear message while at the same time it can exist to be purely decorative and wish only to please!
